This is Anita here with new projects and techniques. Backgrounds are something that can really bring out the beauty of any project. So this post highlights on backgrounds. Together with IBS stamps, the projects look beautiful.
So let us look at the projects first and then follow the technique for creating them.
In these two cards I have used a digital file from the IBS store. These are so beautiful that they can be used in a variety of ways.
For my first card, there is a background of mixed media. This background really gives an awesome base for this butterfly that pops up so beautifully against the black glittery background.
Here are the steps for making it.
Cut a black card panel 4” x 5.25” and add texture with stencil and texture paste. Add spray paints.
Add some gauge and silver thread randomly.
Add the butterfly , sequins and sentiment.

For the second card, I have used the Sunflower digital file.
Here is the card.
For this card, I have created a distressed background.
Cut a pattern paper from the paper collection and swipe over the wet distress inks Spiced Marmalade and Forest Moss.
Crush the paper and smooth out. Distress with Vintage Photo
Add splatter of black paint
Add the lace cut out, crochet lace and the glittered circle frame. Add the sun flower and the sentiments. The images have been coloured with Gansai Tambi water colours.
