Today, I have three cards to share with you featuring a few of my favorite tutorials from this past year.
My first card today features our Winter Friends stamp set. This set is so much fun to pain with your Zig Pens. I began by stamping each stamp set using different distress inks. To create a light image, I stamped off on scrap paper before stamping onto my watercolor paper. For tutorials on how I paint and also Zig Pens make sure to check out our Online Classroom. It is free and full of in depth video tutorials.
After I finished coloring my images, I then added this lovely sentiment from our Poinsettias stamp set. I also created a little outline of a hill background by drawing it out lightly with pencil and then coloring it with watercolors. Little tiny drops were also added for snowflakes. These just sparkle and shine for an added depth to my card.
My second card features our Tree of Seasons stamp set and how to create a watercolor background. I also created an in depth video using this lovely stamp set this year but this time I created a night time scene. I began by stamping my tree using white embossing powder.
Next, I used some masking fluid and created a little hill in the background. I then used watercolors in right blue and purple to create this simple scene. After the watercolor dried, I gently took off the masking fluid with my finger. I again used the Festive Greetings stamp set for my Merry Christmas.
For my last card, I was inspired by Jo Herbert’s lovely post here. She did an amazing tutorial on how to mask using large stamps. You can find the tutorial here. I used some wash tape as Jo suggested and also some scrap printer paper and stamped using Versamark and white embossing powder onto watercolor paper.
After coloring my poinsettias with Zig Pens, I then added Merry Christmas sentiment from our Festive Greetings stamp set in a rich green ink. I also added three rhinestones for the center and also some snowflake drops throughout my card.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s cards. Thank you so much for stopping by. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a lovely New Year.
With paper hugs and love, Joanna
