Hello and welcome to Inspired by Stamping November 2016 Inspiration Week! We are just so excited about this week! We are featuring 3 new stamp sets! All of our new products are available now at www.inspiredbystamping.com.
Today is our showcase of Snowflake Wonder stamp set!
Today we begin with a new video tutorial! I am sharing a quick way to create a distress marker watercolor background using our new Snowflake Wonder set!
I began by creating this card using our Vintage Paper Pad and stitching around the edges. Next, I added this bow that matches perfectly with the Cracked Pistachio ink that I used for the background. To create the watercolor background, I first embossed the snowflakes with white detail embossing powder. Next I grabbed my Distress Markers, Cracked Pistachio & Peacock Feathers, and also some water.
After laying some water down first, I then concentrated on the center of each snowflake with Peacock Feathers and spread the ink out using an extra large watercolor brush. After spreading the color and while the paper was still wet, I then applied the Cracked Pistachio to the paper. Finally, to create a smooth and even look to my paper, I gently went over the entire paper with my watercolor brush. This helps to avoid hard line edges of your watercolor paper where parts of the ink has started to dry.
The picture on the left you can see that I added a few more layers of ink to create a richer and bolder background paper. Either one you try, it will create an amazing background for your Christmas cards.
For my second card, I embossed using detail white embossing powder onto kraft paper. I also used a little dot from our Build A Snowman stamp set to create these little dots with the snowflakes and again white embossed them.
I then grabbed my Sending You & Festive Greetings stamp to build my sentiment on vellum. I love building sentiments as most of you know 😉 and this one was so fun using embossing powder. For my final details, I added some crochet trim and also a few white iridescent sequins that will be in our store next year.
I had so much fun with this stamp set that I had to create a CAS Christmas card. This card was so easy peasy that you could mass produce it for Christmas. I began by sewing the edges of the Vintage Paper Pad onto kraft paper. I then used some gold embossing powder for my snowflake.
Lastly, I used silver embossing powder for the “Noel” and also the little snowflakes and then cut it out using our Fancy Labels 3 Die. I also added some silver rhinestones, crochet trim, gold twine and a little plastic snowflake next to my larger gold one.
