Hi all, Vicki here. Today I am showing you my tried and true effect to achieving water coloring the faux way ;).
Here is the finished card;
To achieve this water colored look, here are the steps;
I started with these products; water color paper, water spray bottle, distress inks [Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, IBS stamp set; Happy Fall. [I also used Flower of the Month; Easter Lilly for my sentiment.]
Step 1 – ink up stamp [solid images really work well with this technique], mist with water
Step 2 – stamp
Keep adding stamped images however you like. Once done and dried, I used black archival ink to stamp the framing (this type of ink will not bleed), and cut out with Fancy Label Dies 2.
I like the surrounding water colored images to the frame, and that it is also inside the frame. I added some washi tape, and another panel for layering. To get dimension on my card, I use mounting tape on the back of the panels.
And, the finished card again;
A fun Fall card. I sure we we could see these pretty colors in Arizona! Meanwhile I’ll see them on my cards.
See you next month~
