Hi all it’s Vicki here. Today I am showing you a fun, easy way to sponge, that gives a nice graphic feel.  Great for those guys in our life.

Here is the finished card;

Inspired by Stamping, Vicki Dutcher, Watercolor Sentiments stamp set, Pirates stamp set, masculine birthday card

For this card, I used the [awesome] masculine set Pirates, along with a sentiment from, Water Color Sentiments

To make this card, you will need some type of masking tool.  While I used painter’s tape, you could use a post it, Stick It Clear Adhesive, whatever masking adhesive you have.  Also, inks, and sponging tools.

For step 1, tape off and sponge on ink along the tape edges, using different colored inks for variety.  Un-tape, and re-tape at a different angle, and follow the step again.

Stamp the images in the open spaces.  Then, to finish it off, lightly sponge to fill in the white spaces, to balance out the graphic lines.

Last step, stamp on your sentiment.

Finish putting your card together.

I love how this works so well for a masculine card – that said, it is going to my son :).

I hope you try this technique — it really is fun!

Next time~

    I love this one! I’ve never seen inking done quite that way. It’s very effective, especially with those great pirate stamps! 🙂
