Welcome to our September Release Week! We are so excited to be officially sharing 5 new stamp sets this week. The last few weeks, I’ve been taking a few pics of some sneak peeks on Instagram. It’s been so fun and I am so excited that the week is finally here!

Every day this week, we will be showcasing a new stamp set with inspirations from myself (Joanna) and our designers. On Friday, Oct 2nd, all product will be available for purchase at our stores as well as a few of your favorite retailers!

Let’s start the week off with our new stamp of the month. One that I have received a few requests from customers and designers to create. I always listen and I am excited to introduce our Big Sympathy stamp set to our collection!

One of the hardest cards to create but one that I believe truly means so much to the recipient. Our newest Sympathy set, speaks from the heart during those times that love and remembrance are so important. I needed a card myself a few months ago and the desire was there to create a set that was elegant but also had sentiments that were needed during that hard time.

This is also going to be our Newest Stamp Of The Month! Yay! Spend $50 in our store and receive this set for free. For more information, please visit our store here. This set will be available on Friday this week!

In my first card, I couldn’t wait to grab my watercolors and create a some lilacs and butterflies with the sympathy sentiment.

This is a very simple technique, so don’t shy away from it. Here’s what you will have to do…grab some watercoloring paint and your favorite color. Now lightly tab with your brush, creating little dots. After the watercoloring has dried, go back over it with a bit darker. This creates more depth to your painting.

After your flowers have dried, next paint your sky a very light blue. I then used our Butterflies stamp set and our coordinating cut file too. I stamped the little butterflies in turquoise and deep dark purple. I didn’t want the white border around the butterflies, so I cut the excess paper off.

I also watercolored this butterfly, using Distress Markers. For more information, check out my video tutorial on two tone watercoloring here. After everything dried, I stamped our Big Sympathy sentiment using Memento Black Ink.

For my second card, I created a more tropical, peaceful scene with the new Big Sympathy set. This is a very simple watercoloring background. Again, don’t shy away from this, once you try it, you will find how very easy it is to create many different sunset background cards.

I began by using a number 6 watercolor brush and loading it up with lots of color. I started at the bottom and worked my way up starting with the darker color of the water. With the paper still wet, I changed colors, blending the colors together and gradually letting the colors get lighter with the water. I then let the paper dry before begin with the sky. Again starting from the top with the darker hue and gradually changing colors and a lighter hue.

Always make sure that your watercolor paper is completely dry before stamping on it. If you don’t, the ink will start blending into the paper and you will have to start over. I am using Memento Black ink here with our Tropical Paradise and Big Sympathy sets.

For my last card, I created a more masculine sympathy card. I began with using our Background Basics Lines set. I lined up 3 different stamps from this set and then stamped them at the same time. This saves a lot of headache from misaligning your stamps and you only need to stamp a few times.

After cutting the top layer, I gently aligned it on my card. This gave me a reference on where to stamp the nautical stamps from Ahoy, Matey! Stamp set.

Lastly, I stamped another great sentiment from today’s new Big Sympathy stamp set.

I hope that you have enjoyed today’s inspirational cards!

Beautiful cards; lovely and touching as sympathy cards should be. My father passed away on December 30th, and well I know how heart-warming such cards can be…
