Hey everyone! Today, is our group post sharing cards using this month’s IBSI challenge. If you haven’t heard, we’ve moved our challenge to our store this month. With the online classes being offered now, I thought it would be best to put the challenge there too. Just incase you create a poppy card using our tutorial.
This month we have so many fun things to try! Our on trend item is polka dots! And our polka dot set works beautifully together. We also have a great sketch and color challenge to try too. Are you a winner? You can check it out over there too!
For today’s card, I decided to use the Polka Dots and Color Challenge for my card. Here’s the supplies that I used today…
White Card Stock & Vellum
Gold Embossing Powder
Gold and White Twine
To begin, I randomly stamped my polka dots with VersaMark and then embossed them using gold embossing powder. Behind the dots, I placed a few foam dimensionals behind it.
Lastly, I stamped and cut out the sentiment from our Petite Banners & Fancy Labels 3 Die. Lastly, I used our Summer Basket Cut File to cut out the flowers. When using the cut files, I use a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock to cut lots of pieces and then I have them on hand when I want to use them in the future.
For my second card, I used the colors from our IBSI challenge and created a very simple hello card.
Here’s what I used.
Gold Sequins & Gold Beads
I began by stamping my flowers using a peach colored ink. I then grabbed some leaves and stamped them in between the flowers. I also stamped off on scrap paper and then stamped again onto the cardstock. This allowed a lighter shade of the green that I am using.
Finally, I added my Big Hello and stamped it using Black Memento Ink. I also randomly added some gold sequins to keep with the colors with the challenge.
Now, hop on over to see what our designers have been up too lately. They have some very beautiful cards to share with you.
I hope that you have enjoyed today’s cards and I hope to see you over at the IBSI challenge this month!
With love and paper hugs, Joanna
