Welcome back! It’s day 2 of our July 2015 Release and I have another new set to share with you today! If you are just joining us, be sure to check out Day 1 here.
I know that all of you are very excited to get a closer look at today’s featured stamp set! It’s my new favorite set, I can’t wait to share…so let’s dive in!
FEATURED PRODUCT: FLOWER OF THE MONTH POPPIES
This past year and a half, I have focused on a flower of the month. We almost have a full collection of 12 beautiful floral sets. Today, we are releasing a 4×6 size set of poppies. While drawing this set, I wanted something simple and easy to color. This allows for you to add in more details to the flowers or leave them. Coloring them this past week has been incredibly fun and I will be featuring this new set in our next newsletter video tutorial.
We also are offering a coordinating cut file with this set. This set comes with two layers for easy layering of your flowers with coordinating colored cardstock. All cut files are only .99c and pair up with most cutting machines.
Now that I’ve made the formal introductions, let’s look at some samples!
My first card uses the watercolor technique with distress markers and Antique Linen ink. I am working on a video for our upcoming newsletter for August to share this step by step tutorial. If you are not a newsletter subscription, you can sign up here
After stamping my image, I used Barn Door, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint and Black Soot Distress Markers to color my image. Super easy to color and it only took me 15 minutes from start to finish.
After the watercolor dried, I stamped this new sentiment with black memento ink in the corner and over the green stems. This gave the flowers a more 3D effect.
Here’s a closer look. I also used foam dimensionals and lifted the watercolor cardstock up. It’s one of my favorite things to do to give a card a more dimensional feel to it.
My second card, I watercolored this gorgeous flower using Winsor and Newton artist paints. If you are interested in knowing the colors I used here, please email me and I would be happy to send you more info.
For the center of my card, I used a large Spellbinder square die and then cut out a piece of watercolor paper slightly larger then the frame. I then added some blues and greens watercolors to create a background. After my flower dried, I cut it out so that there wasn’t any white cardstock showing on my flower.
After my watercolor paper dried, I adhered it with foam dimensionals. And also adhere my flower using them too.
This lovely sentiment can also be found in today’s new set!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s cards and our new flower of the month!
Now onto our designers. They have created some amazing cards using this set. Please hop on over and if you love what you see please leave them a comment.
