Hello everyone! I don’t know about where you live, but where I live has been in full spring already. There are flowers all over the place and butterflies are flying around, it is really a beautiful sight! I wanted to create a very vibrant, yet soft and elegant spring themed card. Actually I think today’s card is perfect for spring wedding or anniversary. Don’t you think this is just lovely?
You can watch the video below to see how I put this card together:
It is pretty simple and easy, right? And it is so soothing to watercolor the image. For today’s project, I used the Tulip Bouquet Stamp Set and heat embossed the outline with a super fine silver embossing powder from WOW!. I used Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pen to color the image. These brush pens are really unique because it is not made of felt like other water based pens in the market. This means you can add colors on to the already wet surface! So I took this unique property as a tool to create the card.
I just simply dropped the pigment from the pen to add colors onto each flower of the image and let the water do the rest of the work. I also fiddled with watercolor pen from Faber-Castell to move around the colors. The colors might look too strong when you are working on it, but don’t forget that watercolor always dry softer in color.
I hope you enjoyed today’s tutorial and the card. Thanks for stopping by!
