Welcome to day 3 of our release! We hope you have been enjoying all the new stamp sets this week! Today, we are introducing our Australian Birds. As most of you know I have been living here in Australia for the past few years, originally from the USA. These are some of the beautiful birds that we have in our backyard. All the birds from this set that are shown today are photos that I have taken while exploring this beautiful country.
Here’s a baby Kookaburra in my garden.
Cockatoos in our front yard that are very loud but beautiful.
I didn’t take this photo but it is such a beautiful photo of what a rosella looks like.
Beautiful galah’s that are so pretty with vibrant colors of pinks and greys! They mate for life and are such loving birds!
Now that you’ve seen my inspiration let’s introduce our new stamp set!
Introducing our Australian Birds stamp set! It’s a 4×8 size set with extra large birds that take and should take center stage of your designs and cards! Each bird measures a whopping 3 3/4”! I wanted these beautiful birds to be our main feature and with so much details on each bird they are a lot of fun to color!
Add here’s our cut file too!
Now that we’ve made the intros let’s get onto the inspiration!
We begin with our rosella bird! This bird is so bright and beautiful and fun to color! I mean you can bring out the bright colors for this gorgeous bird! No shying away! He is bright, bold and beautiful!
I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and heat dried my image with my heat tool. And started coloring him with watercolors. I also colored him using Spectrum Noir makers (not shown today) and they also create a beautiful and bold image too!
After I was finished, I layered him on black card stock.
This beautiful sentiment comes from our Pansies stamp set that we shared on Monday. Click here for details on this stamp set!
Here’s my next project! I am featuring our new Kookaburra stamp! I am using the no line tutorial that Leah shared with us a few months ago. First I stamped the image onto paper and then brought the image into my computer and enlarged the image. I then printed it out to fit onto 5×7 watercolor paper and retraced the larger image.
I colored him entirely with Tombow and Distress markers. I began by coloring him with lighter colors and then continued by adding on darker colors until I felt like he was done. The thing that I love about watercoloring is that you have to walk away from it to let it dry. And as a busy Mom of 3 kids, I am always walking away from my work. LOL!
All in all this took me a few days to complete. But I did laundry, made dinners, cleaned, emails etc between drying times so I think he’d didn’t take as long as that with coloring him.
Here he is in a new frame ready to be hung up next to my other framed drawings of Inspired by Stamping! Up next is Nupur with a beautiful Galah card! Take it away, Nupur!
I hope you are enjoying the new release & beautiful inspirations by all the talented DTs…
Today we are releasing Australian Birds stamp set & I have a card made with this stamp set..
I recently got cameo & I am exploring the possibilities… so I thought of using it for my card…
I cut out the watercolor cardstock with it using Australian Birds Cut File… it has 2 sizes of mat & I used the one with the smaller margin… Then I used antique linen & stamped the image on the cut out & colored with distress inks… No more time consuming fussy cutting with scissors… Woohooo…
The sentiment is from Spring Bouquet stamp set… I stamped them with the colors that I had already used in the card…
I hope you like my card … Thank you for visiting…
See you tomorrow as we introduce Tropical Paradise stamp set!
