Happy Friday everyone! Vicki and myself are here today creating masculine cards.
We also would like to let you know that we received a huge box of stamps and many items that were on backorder are now back in stock! Especially our most popular items such as Elegant Flowers, Guitars, Everyday Greetings & Words of Inspirations!
We begin today with Vicki sharing a great masculine bird card featuring our popular Winter Birds set! Take it away, Vicki!
Hi everyone, Vicki here. I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year’s! I am looking forward to 2015.
For today’s card, I am making a masculine birthday card. There is a basic premiss for making your cards masculine; color, font and of course, images.
For my card, I used the IBS Designer Paper, Spring Lilacs, using the brown and beige sheets. Using a bird as an image [Winter Birds] is perfect since it can be used for both a masculine and feminine card. [Plus, I love bird cards :)]. I did a partial water color – just a hint of color without coloring in the entire image, and last, I used a sentiment from Chalkboard Birthday. A nice bold and block font.
This card is going to be awesome for my son in law. He is currently living in negative temperatures (-9), and I am sure he will love the pop of color being sent to him! Along with having a fun card also :).
See you in a couple of weeks —
Next up I have a masculine card featuring our Masculine II stamp set. I haven’t used this set since our release with it over a year ago, so I thought I’d dust it off and have some fun!
For my masculine card, I used our Masculine Tags II stamp set. I began with stamping my image with Antique Linen Distress Ink. And then started watercoloring the image using my new watercolors.
After I was done watercoloring the image, I gently fussy cut the die to make it a little smaller and then layered it with two larger dies.
After layering, I added my sentiment from Masculine Tags II and also used our Everyday Tabs stamp set. All in all I think this card took 20 minutes to make. While the paint was drying, I cut out the layers for my cardstock.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s cards. I will be back all weekend long with a new tutorial and our Sunday Designer Feature!
With paper hugs and love, Joanna
