Today we are focusing on Clean and Simple Christmas cards! Leah has three gorgeous cards that are truly inspiring! Here’s Leah with her cards!
“The holidays are quickly approaching and you may want to create more Christmas cards to be ready. I have a few different CAS (clean and simple) card ideas for you that you can quickly re-create or mass produce. I pulled out several Inspired By Stamping sets for my cards and made three different designs. Here they are all together.
My first card is the takes the most amount of time out of all of them. I started by stamping my sentiment from Big Holidays. Then using the Poinsettias stamp set I embossed my flowers in white. The heat embossing is what takes a bit of time. After my embossing was done I stamped my leaves in kraft ink and finished by adding a sequin to the middle of each flower.
My next card is a bit faster as there is no heat embossing but a bit of dry embossing. I first embossed my frame and then stamped my bird from Winter Birds and the sentiment is from the Poinsettias set. I then matted the front panel onto a red base and was done.
My last card is the easiest of the three. It only took me a few minutes to create this as you stamp directly onto the card base and it’s all stamping. I started by stamping my sentiment from Big Holidays and then added the cute little bells from Build a Stocking. They nestle perfectly with the sentiment. I then added the music background strip from Basic Backgrounds III twice. To finish I rounded my top corners and was done.
I hope these give you some ideas for some quick Christmas cards! Have a wonderful day 🙂
Next up Kylie has a very clever way of using the same stamp set with three unique and gorgeous Christmas cards! Take it away, Kylie!
Hi there everyone and thanks for popping in.
These cards show you another way you can create a number of cards very quickly and with just one stamp!
Here are my cards –
Obviously I have used the same stamp but I have embossed it with different colours. This gives you a very CAS card but with lots of interest and even though they all look the same, using different colours gives the cards their own ‘flavour’.
Adding sequins or gems are perfect for CAS cards. They don’t take away from the actual design but add a nice, simple touch.
I find creating CAS cards very easy. They are the style that I feel most comfortable with.
Here are some of my tips when attempted to make a CAS card if you struggle with them –
1. Lot’s of open space
2. Minimal embellishments or layers
3. One focal image
You may look at your finished CAS card and think it really needs something else (especially if you are used to layers etc). Try and restrain yourself. The thing about CAS is you don’t have to fill up the card – less is best!
Here is the stamp set that I have used today –
Thanks so much for looking today! xx
We will be back tomorrow with Christmas Tags inspirations from Jo and Marzena! Now don’t forget to leave a comment for our blog candy! With paper hugs, Joanna xxx
