“Hello! I am excited to be here today to share in bringing you the special holiday release happening this week at Inspired By Stamping! I hope you are ready for some holiday inspiration. The set I get to show you today is called Sugar and Spice. Every year my mom and I bake gingerbread cookies with my kids. It’s such a fun tradition! I knew this set would make the sweetest gingerbread house so that is what I did.

This was so much fun to make! I started by cutting the box using my Silhouette Cameo. It was the perfect base to dress up. The bow and holly leaves are a sneak peek at another set releasing this week called Christmas Wreath. All the other images are from the Sugar and Spice set. I went with the current color challenge at Inspired By Stamping as well. For my “snow” I layed down strips of Scor tape and sprinkled glitter.

I added little rhinestones for extra sparkle. I love the little bows along the roof line.

Welcome everyone! I am so excited to be sharing with you my cards using the brand new release stamps. I am so in love with these new sets and I’m sure you will be too.

Today we are concentrating on the Sugar & Spice set – there are so many ways to use these stamps. My first card is lots of fun using 3 gingerbread men.

Inspired by Stamping, Kylie Purtell, Sugar and Spice stamp set, Christmas Card

There are so many different ways that you can ‘dress’ you gingerbread. Aren’t they the cutest!! I stamped my solid gingerbread man and then embossed the extras with white powder. I gave one a hat that was embossed too. Then I fussy cut them out and popped them up on my embossed background using foam squares.

I stamped a couple of the sweet stamps and fussy cut them out. The sentiment was die cut at an angle to give it a bit more interest.

My next card also uses a cute gingerbread man and for this one I have created a fun shaker card!

I was so inspired by the colours in the photo for our IBS monthly challenge that I used it for this card.

I stamped a background using the little sweet stamps from this set, created my shaker card by filling it with sequins and stars and popped it on the front of my card base. Below you can see all the little goodies inside once it has been shaken.

I created my gingerbread man the same as in my first card using the little stars for his front, fussy cut him out and used glossy accents to adhere him to the front of my card.

Wow! I had so much fun using this set. I hope you are enjoying the first day of Release Week – strap yourself in because there is so much more to come! Thanks for popping in today xx

Sugar & Spice

Thank you Leah and Kylie for such gorgeous cards! I have a few cards to share now! Super excited to share these fun cards with you!

Inspired by Stamping, Joanna Munster, Sugar and Spice stamp set, Christmas card, gingerbread man card

I used our IBSIC colors today for my first card. You can check out all the details here. I began by cutting out all the images using my Silhouette Cameo and then started stamping!

I started stamping the little gingerbread man in Memento Ink Desert Sand. It is a great color for my little guy. I then started building him with the scarf, hat and little frosting bands.

Just a note there are two sizes of bands for this set for the arms and legs. Just in case you were wondering why I have two of the same. Smile

I then lifted him up on foam dimensionals and placed him on a tag that I had already cut out. I then stitched with red string and added some red and blue rhinestones. A super fun and quick card if you don’t want to add the stitching.

My second card has a little bit more layers on it with again some red Christmas stitching around it. I then stamped my gingerbread men in kraft colored ink and added some layers to them. It is so fun watching these little guys come to life!

I then created this fun banner by using kraft and white cardstock. This cute sentiment can be found from this set and matches perfectly with this little dudes. I then added a blue button and tied a bow with some hemp string.

Here’s a little close up of the little gingerbread men! They are just so cute!

Inspired by Stamping, Joanna Munster, Sugar and Spice stamp set, Mason Jars stamp set, IBS White crochet tape, Christmas card, gingerbread man card

I specifically drew the gingerbread to fit perfectly inside our most popular Mason Jars set. I began by stamping the mason jar onto an already cut out mason jar cut out. I always have cut outs with my stamp sets to make stamping super quick!

Inspired by Stamping, Joanna Munster, Sugar and Spice stamp set, Mason Jars stamp set, IBS White crochet tape, Christmas card, gingerbread man card

Next, I stamped the little candies from this set inside the mason jar. This gorgeous topper is from our Mason Jars Add On II stamp set. And then this little guy was added to the front of the card on foam dimensionals.

Inspired by Stamping, Joanna Munster, Sugar and Spice stamp set, Mason Jars stamp set, IBS White crochet tape, Christmas card, gingerbread man card

Last but not least, I added some IBS White Crochet Tape, buttons and ribbon from our Christmas Ribbon Collection. And don’t forget that cute sentiment in the corner is also from this fabulous stamp set!

We hope you enjoyed today’s cards and projects from myself and the designers! We have a few more great designs from our designers that we’d love for you to pop over and see! Here’s the list!

  2. Denise Bryant says:

Awesome Sugar & Spice set! Love all the fun projects!
I’m a last-minute kinda gal, so usually about the 18th of Dec! I don’t do as much decorating as I used to… but I will head down to my Mom’s and help her decorate her house the first week of Dec. She is 92 years old and still loves to decorate and put up a tree!

  3. Robyn Oliver says:

In our home we like to put the tree up on December 1st but prior to that I like to think about the colour scheme to use. I have collected little santa tree ornaments over the years and like to use them, or maybe just baubles. I always pick up bargains at the post Christmas sales and are a lovely surprise when we haul out the decorations. I’m looking forward to the coming Christmas’s now we have a grand daughter to help with the tree..Christmas is a wonderful time of the year. I make cards all through the year and enjoy sending them to family and friends.
Love your fun cheery cards this post, wonderful inspiration from the team. Cheers and here’s to counting down the days – Robyn

  4. Diana says:

What a great set and so many great inspiration. Just love the ideas from the DT. It is a real must have, since I love gingerbread man.
When do I start decorating for the season? Usually on the weekend of the first advent. I am sort of traditional. But we put up the tree and decorate that in the morning of Christmas Eve. ( Just like my grandma used to do it. 🙂 )

  5. Vinita Jain says:

Wow, that’s really a special gift for me, excited to see my name!!! Congrats to other winner too!
I belong to a different religion and here in India, Diwali (on 23rd Oct) is a great Festival just like Christmas. Incidentally I just completed decorating my house today. Will soon post pictures of the decorations on my blog.

  6. Karen Petitt says:

These are just seriously stinking cute stamps! I can smell yummy gingerbread men cookies and that wonderful aroma of cold winter snow days and Christmas cinnamon and spice, oranges, mince pies and Frankincense burning in our oil burner – I love that aroma!

I can’t believe how very cute all these stamps are. You will not make a bad card or project with them – they are perfect as they are! I so love that gingerbread house too it reminds me of when my brother was a young boy and I used to spend time with him decorating a gingerbread house and the aromas from doing that, Am in love with them! Anyone will be able to create truly beautiful cards for young or young at heart!

We try to decorate our home the day before Christmas Eve but there have been times when we have just finished putting up the decorations just before bed on Christmas Eve. We are going to try and be a lot more organised this year lol! So we will start with the baking and treat making two weeks before Christmas and I would love to get the tree up a week before Christmas so that there will be plenty of time to decorate the whole house. We want this year to be a good one!

Thanks for sharing all these beauties and many congratulations to the winners of these stamps! Karen x

  7. Janis in ID says:

I don’t start decorating for Christmas until the second week of December. I have cats and they play havoc with ornaments!!

Adorable samples today. Can’t wait to begin playing with this stamp set. I make a lot of goodies to give to people at Christmas. This set will be perfect for tags!

We usually decorate right after Thanksgiving.

    Congrats to both winners!

Gorgeous cards, and the gingerbread gift box is adorable! Thanks for the chance to win.

  9. Chrissie says:

All that Gingerbread and no calories yeah!! Wonderful makes by the DT.
I start decorating after the 15th of December to kick off the Christmas Holidays!

  10. Ann Greenspan says:

It usually depends on the weather. I don’t want to decorate too soon for Christmas and have the neighbors think I’m crazy. We don’t get snow down here in Maryland before Christmas usually. When we get a warm day after Thanksgiving, I will drag out our giant lighted wreath to hang outside, but for inside decorations, I wait for the weather to get cooler so it feels more like Christmas.

  11. Brittney says:

As early as i can….however taking it down is a completely different answer (lets not get into it) haha 🙂

  12. Phi says:

Wow thanks for choosing my comment to win. Cant wait to receive and play with the stamp set.

that gingerbread house is gorgeous. Thats a great stamo set too.

    • Phi says:

Oops I forgot to say…we usually start decorating when we see other houses on the street have their decorations out, usually early december.

  13. frommycraftroom says:

    Very cute Gingerbread people.
    Great cards by all.

We don’t start decorating until the 1st December and usually spend just the one day putting up the tree and all the decorations. It usually takes a whole day to put up the tree and all the boxes of ornaments. As our girls have their birthdays 2nd, 3rd and 7th of December we are usually having a party or two at the same time 🙂
