Are you ready for another sneak peek? It has been fun hearing your guesses this week. Some of them would make fantastic stamp sets for next year and I have jotted down a few ideas. ;o)

We had one winner yesterday that was pretty close to the answer of our sneak peek. She was the only lady to guess cardinal and she was right! It’s our new winter birds stamp set. I hand drew 4 USA winter birds that I use to love to see during the winter months in Michigan. We will be revealing this set on Tuesday next week!

Our Winner is…..

Martha H. says I think it’s a Christmas bird (Cardinal), along with some sentiments. Good luck everyone! Thanks for the chance to win.

Martha, please email us at to claim your prize! Here’s today sneak peek…

Leave a comment below! The first person to guess correctly or the closest will win this set for free!

Today, we have the fabulous Nicole with a fantastic video tutorial on how she created her card! Now grab a cup of coffee or tea. I just bought my Mom Coconut Chai Tea for her birthday! Yum! And enjoy today’s video.

Happy Thursday! Welcome to another segment of our online classes. I wanted to share a fun technique in creating a WOW looking Holiday card for the upcoming Christmas season. (Can you believe it is only few weeks away?) I am always a big fan of getting the Holiday cards ready ahead of time so I can focus on more important and last minute things for the Christmas season. And it is always good to have “send Christmas cards” to do list out of the way!

Next week we will be releasing some brand-new stamp sets that are perfect for Winter and Christmas time, but before we get too excited for the release, I wanted to highlight some yummy stamp sets that are “perfect” to go with the upcoming stamp sets. So hopefully I can get you guys inspired and have you grab those babies next time you shop! Grab a cup of coco or coffee, sit back, relax and enjoy the brand-new video tutorial below:

As you can see it in the video, this card is not hard to create at all. And if you are not a big fan of “water-color-mess,” this is a perfect technique to try as you can control where those colors would go on your palette.

As a focal point of today’s card, I used this cool house on a snowed hill image from the December 25th Label Stamp Set. This stamp set has lots of images that are great for multiple cards, but also that would work really well for making gift tags. You will definitely get lots of bang for your buck with this stamp set. I also took out an elegant-looking sentiment from the Holiday Expressions Stamp Set. There are great saying in different fonts so you can always create different looking Christmas cards by using this one stamp set. Talking about a great investment!

I stamped those two images using the Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I wanted something really juicy and bold black ink, since I was using the Distress Watercolor Papers for the main layer. I used the smooth side of the paper for an easier stamping. (The paper has textured and smooth side, so choose the side that fits your needs perfectly!)

For this cool watercolor background effect, I took out some Distress Ink Pads: Stormy Sky, Peacock Feathers, and Iced Spruce. Acrylic block is perfect tool for this splattering technique so be sure to watch how I did it in the video above.

IBS - 20141016-1

Couple of finishing touches went in – I added some fine, subtle glitters (and lots of it) by using the Wink of Stella Clear Brush Pen, and also added couple strands of Natural Twine. I thought all of the elements go together really well.

Hope you enjoyed today’s video & project and have fun with some of our new release sneak peaks! Thanks for stopping by-

As everyone else has said Poinsettia and that is what I saw when I first looked at the sneaky peek and the sentiment could be Happy/Merry Christmas to you and yours however …
a second look has made me think of a Thanksgiving Turkey – are they the feathers? The sentiment could be Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Karen x

    • Karen Petitt says:

Forgot to say love the card – that image is so pretty and I would not have thought to use it on a large card – going to have to look at some of my stamps in a different way – thanks for the inspiration x

  2. Martha H. says:

Oh my goodness, I almost fell of my chair! Thank you so much!

I’m going to say that it’s a Flower Theme Stamp Set that has Poinsettias, pine cones & holly, Christmas Wreath/Poinsettias on a door, in a basket or vase/centerpiece with candles.

  3. Ina says:

You can’t have a Christmas Card without a beautiful poinsettia. So this is the flower and the sentiment would say Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas. I love the stamp set you used here and will be using it often on my Christmas cards . Thanks Joanna.

  4. frommycraftroom says:

I am sure it is a poinsettia however the set may also contain some other Christmas flowers such as Christmas Cactus, Amaryllis, holly, mistletoe, rosemary and a big Fir/Spruce/pine tree.

    Congrats to yesterday’s winner.

Great card Nicole – love Chai tea 🙂

  5. Kristina Song says:

What fun and congrats to the winner yesterday. Im going to guess holiday greenery and sentiments like that could be a magnolia leaf wreath and perhaps others might be mistletoe and holly? Big hugs, Kristina
