3D projects is our theme today! Lisa has created a beautiful tea bag holder featuring our Friends Forever set. Next up is Grace with a great way to store your vacation pictures.
Just a little reminder that we are less then one week away from announcing the winner of our IBSI challenge! We hope you took the time to make something for a chance to win a $30 GC to our store! We will announce the winner in our newsletter on Sept 15th!
We love Lisa’s beautiful purple and green tea bag holder! The lovely ribbon and frame go perfectly with our Friends Forever stamp! Here is Lisa with her project.
Hi Everyone! Lisa here sharing a ‘sweet’ tea bag holder. I chose the pretty floral image from the July Release, Friends Forever stamp set.
After coloring the Friends Forever floral image, I lightly sponged the die cut and added pearls.
I am a big tea drinker and sweet eater, and love to give both as gifts. There is a tea bag on one side and a cookie on the other.
The Sweet Friend sentiment is from the Beautiful Iris stamp set.
The measurements for my tea bag holder are:
Card Stock – 8 x 3 3/4, scored at 3 3/4 in from both sides (creates a 1/2 fold in the middle)
Patterned Paper Insert – 6 6/16 x 5 13/16, scored at 3 in from both sides (creates a little less than a 1/2 fold in the middle) and scored 6/16 down the long side (a little more than 1/4 so the tape fits on the flap). Tape closed, fold on the scores to create the pockets, and attach along the spine.
Two feet of ribbon
I hope you liked my ‘sweet’ tea bag holder.
Next up is Grace with a fantastic idea on how to create a mini album! We love how she uses an old board book. So clever! Here is Grace!
Hello friends. So the kids are now back in school and you have the time to document those vacation photos. Well I’m here to share with you one of the ways I document travel photos. If you’re like me, there are TONS of pictures from one trip. I just can’t help myself, I want to be able to capture all of the memories from that trip so I get a little “trigger” happy with my camera. About three years ago we took a day trip to a nearby botanical garden. They were having a “free admission” day and we couldn’t pass it up.
When I printed my photos, I had over 12 images to document and I knew that a double page layout wouldn’t be enough room for all of it so I decided to make a mini album instead. Here’s the finished book…
I started with an old board book that I had cut out the inside pages into thinner strips to have an accordion style mini.
I then covered each page with pattern paper, added my photos and then used the IBS Fancy Labels dies 3 to create some unique labels to add my stamped words and images. Here’s a collage of what the finished book looked like, inside and out….
I hope this project inspired you to document those travel photos soon. Recycle a board book and see what you come up with.
Others: Pattern papers (Basic Grey); Chipboard butterflies (Studio Calico); Pearl stickers (Recollections); Letter stickers (American Crafts); Ink (Tsukineko, American Crafts); Pen (Millennium, Zig); Embossing powder (Hampton Arts)
Thank you to Grace and Lisa for creating such fantastic projects using our Friends Forever stamp set! We will be back tomorrow with a fabulous tutorial by Leah! See you then! Joanna xxx
