Today, Leah & Vicki are hear sharing gorgeous cards! We hope you feel inspired to get in your craft room this weekend and create with us! Here’s Leah with her lovely card.
“Hello! I had the opportunity to purchase some Gelatos which I’d seen for awhile and have really wanted to try and was so excited to find a set of them at my local craft store. I decided to use the emboss resist technique to see how they work. I am very pleased with them and as I love watercolors these are just the thing to add to my supplies.
I knew I wanted my sentiment to be my focal point, so I used one of the Fancy Labels 2 dies to die cut the middle of my watercolor paper. I didn’t want to mess with masking as I’d be painting my entire panel. I pulled out a couple of gorgeous sets, Butterfly Wings and Delicate Doilies II, and stamped each image in Versamark and then heat embossed each impression with white embossing powder.

After all my heat embossing was complete I went back in and with a wet brush to the Gelato stick picked up color and painted it on my watercolor paper base. A couple of the colors have shimmer to them which is hard to pick up in a photo as it’s subtle, but in person very pretty. I finished my card by stamping my sentiment on the positive die cut and replacing it into my card base. I added some twine, flowers, a pearl brad and some little leaves. I hope you enjoyed my card and thanks so much for joining me today!

Next up is our talented Vicki with a great birthday card featuring our Cupcake Wishes stamp set. Love all of Vicki’s layers today in her card! Take it away, Vicki!

“Hi everyone, Vicki here. Today I have a fun birthday card for you. Well, actually, it is for a friend of mine, but showcased for you ;).  I’m sure you all can relate that sometimes there is the just the perfect go-to set of stamps.  Case in point, I reach for Cupcake Wishes a lot!  I just love the fun cupcake in this set, along with the beautiful font of the sentiment. I used some of the pretty Spring Lilacs paper also.

For my friend’s card, [she likes foo-foo], I added some liquid pearls around the edges, and I used a portion of a doily.  I also added some glossy accents to the top of the cupcake.  I think my friend will like this card.

Next up is our talented Calypso with a great note pad idea! This is so beautiful for your frig or kitchen area! I love her details throughout! Here’s Calypso with tips on her project!

“Calypso here today, to share a very pretty note pad project with you.   Now, while I love making altered items or all sort, I especially love making items that I can give someone and have them use the gift as intended  and for a long time.

Today, I am sharing a note pad that I made using the Vintage Pieces stamp set. I found a canvas board and trimmed regular printer paper into 3 3/4″ x 5″, which were then inked with distress ink.  Stamping the “Just a Note” sentiment on all 16 pages, was the fun part!! I had to use my stampamajig for this, or else I would extremely crocked!!  LOL

Turning to my Lilac Spring paper pad, I trimmed a piece down to 4″ x 6″ and adhered it to the back of the canvas.  I adhered magnet strips to the back, so that it could be displayed or hung on a refrigerator. I added a pencil loop, so to always having a writing piece handy!!  🙂

After all the pages were stamped, inked and ready aligned, I punched two holes through all the papers and a piece of acetate.  I passed  piece of ribbon from the back and tied a bow in the front!! I kept the embellishments to a minimal so that refilling it would be a cinch to do!!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my project today!!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating National Scrapbook Day! Thank you Calypso, Vicki & Leah for creating such gorgeous cards today! Hugs, Joanna
