We love the colors that Rebecca uses today in her card! They just speak Spring with such softness and elegance. Her felt pin is just adorable and such a clever idea too! Here is Rebecca sharing this great idea with us!

Hello everyone~  Rebecca here and today I would like to share a card and a little, handmade gift idea with you using the new Sweet Peas stamp set by IBS…

This card would could work for a birthday, friendship, everyday or springtime. Using the sweetest smelling of all sweet peas, ‘Lathyrus Oderatus’ as my inspiration, the large sweet pea stamp was embossed onto vellum and colored with die ink from the back.  A few quick strokes of alcohol ink, gave some definition on the front…

Two background papers were made by stamping polka dots in reverse colorations.  The chipboard frame has been crackled in white and layered over the two polka dot papers, a piece of sweetly flowered patterned paper and a sheet of vellum has been distressed.  The flower bouquet was fussy cut and placed inside the frame so that it could cascade out.

Below, you can see a small, felt sweet pea pin that I stitched by hand with silk buttonhole twist and stuffed the top of the two full-flower cutouts, just enough to round out the back petals…

For presentation, I used the IBS Fancy Labels Dies, stamped with white pigment ink and the tag frame from the Flowers Bloom stamp set.  Another, slightly larger layer was die cut with a Fancy Labels Die and the first layer was popped high above the dotted paper to allow room for the pin back.  These layers were added to a base with ‘stub’ punched corners…

To make this little pin, I stamped the bouquet and cut out the single flower. Using it as a template, the entire flower was cut twice from the color used for the large back petals.  Cutting two layers allowed me to stuff the top petals.  I love the rounded dimension it added…

After cutting the two complete flower shapes, the largest back petals were trimmed off of the paper ‘pattern’, and then the next layer was cut in a medium pink.. it’s not nearly as bright as it appears in the photo…

The second layer of petals was trimmed away and cut from the lightest, lavender color.  Then, only the bulbous portion in the front of the flower was cut (also from lavender).  You can see the felt layers stacked…

To make a presentation card for this pin, I used the Fancy Labels Die #1 is the die cut layer.  Two 1/4″ circles were punched in the spots were the  pin back begins and ends.  A straight line was cut between the two circles, allowing the closed pin to be popped onto this card as you can see below…

By cutting the straight line between the circles, I didn’t have to fidget to get the pin through the card…

I almost forgot to mention that the two simple leaves were cut by hand from some blue-green felt and just glued to the back of the pin with fabric glue.

Next up, Irit has a lovely card using such beautiful autumn colors that are perfect for the autumn season that Australia is heading into. Irit is featuring our Everyday Greeting set and really makes it shine with the layer of pearls. Here is Irit sharing her card with us.

This set is so pretty and so versatile!  It was fun to make this little set~

Thinking of you card

This is my second card made for our delicious March Inspired by Stamping new release and this time I used a single sentiment from the Everyday Greeting Stamp Set as my focal card point.

I stamped with green ink over patterned paper to stay in this 3 colors scheme and just added a lot of layers under and over this sentiment. The lower layers are home die cuts; the upper layers are white chipboards covered with a bit of mist and glitter. Irit
