Welcome to the Inspired by Stamping August Release Countdown! Today’s the day where we get to share cards & projects using the new Background Basics IV and Guy Sentiments Stamp Sets! We have had so much fun with these sets! We have lots to share so let’s get started!
For my 1st card, I paired up the Background Basics IV with our previous released Background Basics II stamp set and our new Guy Sentiments! Our background stamps are seamless which means that you can stack them to create a larger pattern as shown on my homemade houndstooth background paper!
After stamping my background images, I used some red satin ribbon for the IBS store and added 3 rhinestones on the top and bottom of my card.
Here is one of our sentiments from our Guy Sentiments stamp set! For the background I stamped these images that can also be found in this great set! More details further below!
I love how the stamps in this new background set are bigger and better! Each stamp measures 5.5” x 1”! Large enough to create a border as above that adds great dimension to your card! Plus, little fussy cutting which is a requirement! I cut this one with my paper cutter.
Here’s another peek at our new Guy Sentiment stamp set! Each sentiment is large and bold! An added bonus is I designed them to fit in all the nestie dies I own (shh, don’t tell but that’s 35 different dies. hehe!)
For some added dimension, I added hemp twine to the top and bottom of the card stock to create a border. I also added these three stars. Each one was painted with white acrylic paint and then distressed with distress ink. I also added black rhinestones.
It was hard last week not sharing this rope stamp for the nautical card I made last week! Wouldn’t it of made a great addition to that card?
In Australia, we celebrate Father’s Day in September and our Guy Sentiment stamp set features a great Father’s Day sentiment! I stamped this one in red and layered it with red and blue circles.
This card is a 5×5 size card and with the larger stamps in this set, I didn’t have to worry about lining this set up side by side. Simple and sweet! We will be sharing our BB (Background Basics) Lines in a few days, I used it to create my banner shown above.
My last card features both stamp sets again! I love the different lines in this set stamped in kraft ink and distressed. I then added a little brass buckle with some grosgrain ribbon.
For my sentiment, I first cut my paper out using a square die and then stamped it on an angle. Have you ever had that moment when you look at a card and you just know that you have to add just something more? I did with this card and grabbed some mustard color pearls that I found in my stash. (I just won’t be telling my hubby that these are pearls when I give him this for his birthday! LOL! )
Clean and Simple is my first card featuring our Octagons and Guy Sentiments stamp sets.
I used the free cut files from our Octagon stamp set. After cutting it out, I then used blue, mustard and red to create a border on the side. I then tied some hemp twine on top of the border.
Here’s a great close up of my sentiment that can be found in this great stamp set!
I was excited to purchase some burlap/heshen at the store the other day. I adore burlap on masculine cards! It adds such a natural feel. I even cut some out using our die with the big shot! It cut perfectly!
I always peel a little bit of the burlap away to give it a frayed look. Don’t throw those pieces away! Instead use them on your buttons!
I felt the top corner was feeling a bit bare and wasn’t balance quite right with the buttons on the other bottom corner, so I added a banner from our Whimsical Banners stamp set.
Browns, blues and orange were used for my 3rd card. I just love these colors together. I also added a large grosgrain brown ribbon to the side with a knot. I am hoping the knot doesn’t look to girlie?
Here’s a close up of another great sentiment from the Guy Sentiments stamp set.
My last card today features our Guitars and BB Lines stamp sets which will be featured tomorrow and the Guy Sentiments stamp set.
Available with the Guitar set comes free cut files for your Silhouette Cameo or digital cutter. After cutting them out, I used some brown Memento ink and then distressed my guitar to give it an older aged feel.
My lines come from the new BB (Background Basics) Lines stamp set! Love how many different styles you can use with this set. After inking it up , I sprayed a bit of water on it to give it a more distressed look. Love this technique!
I hope that you enjoyed today’s cards! I absolutely loved creating with them!
