Inspired by Stamping February tutorial

Coloring with Faber Castell Gelatos

I am not a coloring kind of stamper, but coloring with Faber Castell Design Memory Crafts Gelatos is so easy that even ” non coloring” crafter can get the best possible water coloring results. So I decided to make this small tutorial and to show how easy it is after all.

First of all I stamped one of Inspired by Stamping Roses with Faber Castell Big Brush (scarlet color). This is a permanent ink and very easy to use brush and we have great results and a possibility to use water colors inside the stamped image.

So the left image is the stamped one before coloring.

On the next, middle image, I added 2 Gelato colors, just a bit and almost randomly.

The right image is the water colored one, using any water brush you have or just a simple small paint brush with a bit of water.

The images were hand cut and then, on my final project, I added some Glossy Accents and a bit of very fine colorless glitter.

As this Scrap Cake paper was very pale, I decided to color over the patterned paper with the very same rose and red Gelatos and to add some greens over the leaves.

I added some old pink pins and a metal piece I colored with shiny paint inside and decided to leave it without any sentiment so we can use it for any reason.

As you can see its very simple technique that can be used on every flower image if it’s a big one as Gelatos are a lipstick kind of paint (also you can cut a piece and to use it out of paint package)

We hope that you enjoyed today’s tutorial!

Hugs, Joanna

I’ve been wondering how to use those Gelatos! And I love how you colored the background paper, too – looks very “watercolor-y.” Thanks for an informative tute!
