It is with such a happy heart to share with you our new home. Through many struggles over the last few months, the last few days has been a dream come true! We are so excited to be here. It has been a whirlwind few days. I don’t really know where they went. And as I send Brad off back to work tomorrow, I am excited to sit in my little space in the garage for now to create some cards for this weeks release! Whoo Hoo! We are here and I am so happy!

We found our home back in February. It is situated up in the hills with 10 1/2 acres of rain forest. There is more state rainforest behind us as well that extends to the ocean. I remember very clearly walking into the house and seeing & feeling it was ours. It just had “that” feel to it. We had already put our home up for sale and thought it would be ours quickly. But boy were we wrong. We had 2 contracts on our home fall through and the 3 sale is the charm as they say. Smile

Here it is all nestled in the rainforest.

We were all over the moon excited when the moving truck arrived! Yay! There’s Brad putting together our outside dining table. Over the last few days, we have had A LOT of wild life come on through the yard and I guess greet us. LOL! Some huge spiders and snakes but also some beautiful Australian animals.

Here is a Goanna that seems to think he or she should be part of the family. It even went so far as to enter the garage and walk up to the garage door. Brad heard a noise and opened the door and there was “THIS” goanna standing there! It was next to my crafty things. It was so scared and ran away and up a tree. We are going to have to get use to each other I guess.

There have been a lot of beautiful Kookaburras laughing at sunrise and sunset. These have been my favorite bird since arriving in Australia just 2 short years ago. There have been so many beautiful birds that I can’t wait to get a bird book to find what these lovely birds are.

And I hear that there are Koalas around as well. I will have my camera ready for that special day.

Thank you for taking a peek at our new home. I look forward to showing all sorts of photos as we complete the house. The construction starts tomorrow morning! Yay! I’m off to pick out tiles and get the kiddos enrolled in their new school!

Hugs to you!

Joanna

I was wondering if you have seen some emus. I have two females and two males and one of the males hatched an egg so we have a baby emu, too. They are so cute.
Your home is beautiful and what a wonderful place to live.

What a beautiful place to live. I could probably handle the Goanna but definitely not the snakes! Where did you live before you moved to Australia? Congratulations and enjoy your wonderful new home.

Oh how beautiful, you need to put glass doors in the garage to be able to see all the beauty you have while you are working. Enjoy it all.
