Hello my sweet blog friends!!! How are you?? I’m home again! For the last week, I have been on vacation again over the 4th of July and have just returned today. Thank you to those who have written me some very beautiful and kind words on my blog this last week. I really treasure my comments and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I received over 100 emails this week! I have read every single one of them and I can not thank you enough! I will be writing back to you all over the next few days! Please be understanding if it takes me a few days. Smile

Today, I have a quick and easy project for you. The photo below is my daily calendar that my darling hubby (DH) gave me at the start of the year. It is a black daily calendar with huge bold gold letters of the name of his work on it. Yuck, not very feminine. So it has been pestering me for the last few months on how to dress it up and what to use. (I did this last month before I saw all the gorgeous SU! fabric! Bummer!!!) So here is my New & Much improved daily calendar!!! I am just so happy with  it!DSC_0619

So what did you think??? I love the fabric, I got it at the fabric store in the quilt section. I used some foam because the black vinyl showed through the fabric. I stitched my crochet trim through the center of the fabric. And then used some craft glue to adhere it to the inside of the calendar.

For my flower center, I used the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die. I cut 5 larger flowers and 5 little flowers. I sewed on a Vanilla button in the middle and then glued an antique brad to the center. (Don’t forget to snip the ends of the brad off)

I used my own beads for the center piece and attached these adorable Simply Adorned Trinket Keys. I used the flat ones so that when I open my calendar it will still lay flat.

Love what you did with your calendar. It looks great, but functionally, do you think that decorating it has made it bulky?
I missed a few days of posting due to the weekend, so I just looked through. I can’t believe how much is involved with posting one card. I have always appreciated your beautiful creations, but much more so now that I know what all is involved!!! Thank you so much for all you do to give us inspiration. I like the beads you have added in the last 2 posts and it got me to thinking how many of your cards seem very 3D. What do you do for mailing? Padded envies?
Hope you had a great vacation!

So pretty! Love the fabric…very pretty! I have to get my sewing machine out and dust it off. I have an ugly calendar/journal that needs to be covered too!
