“Hello everyone. I am delighted to share a holiday card with you that I made with Inspired By Stamping’s frame from ‘A Lovely Birthday‘ stamp set and a sentiment from the ‘Holiday Sentiments‘ set. It’s hard to have too many holiday cards on hand this month and I love taking stamps from unrelated categories (like a birthday set!) and thinking about how they can be used in a new way (a Christmas card)!
I began with the frame and chose to heat emboss it in white, on kraft card stock. Not knowing exactly how I was going to use it, I cut it out on the edges. Later, I realized it needed a kraft border, so I mounted it on another piece of card stock. The sentiment was placed at the bottom of the window, allowing room for a holly embellishment…
The berries are made of three different, red buttons, dabbed with a bit of glitter and topped with gold half-pearls. The leaves were cut from paper rose leaves and covered with a glossy coating…
At the top of this card, I used one of my favorite, new embellishments…fabric or crepe paper gathered into tightly gathered ruffles. This one is made from a stretchy tan fabric that has heat set circles of silver lamé. It is very light weight and works well on cards or scrapbook pages. The distressed red dot paper is from the digital Christmas Papers collection and is a go-to favorite of mine. ~ Rebecca”
Are you looking for a beautiful Christmas bag to give a friend or teacher? Calypso, is sharing how to make these adorable bags. Here’s Calypso sharing how she made these bags featuring our Holiday Tags stamp set.
“Hi everyone, Calypso here and I have two candy bags to share with you today. With the holiday season quickly approaching, it seems that my kids always want to give all their friends something. To them it really doesn’t matter what they give, as long as they give something. Especially when they can say, ” I helped make that!”. The pride and joy on their faces is “PRICELESS”.
Now, if you are like me, then you have a huge collection of paper! Sometimes I just get overwhelmed with my collection, but I have found that making gifts and presents really push me to use what I have. These boxes were cut using a SVG file and my die cutting machine. I sponged the edges of the paper with a dark brown ink before assembling it. I find that doing this really gives a more complete look and feel. There is also a piece of acetate on the inside of these bags!!! :) So you can fill them with any sort of goodies and it looks really good.
I love the Holiday Tags set, because you can use it for any time of the year. You can really decorate and personalize any gift with this set.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thank you so much Rebecca and Calypso for sharing these lovely ideas on our blog today. We will see you on Monday with the winner of our blog candy.
