Here are a few of Irit’s gorgeous designs…

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Today I am going to share a couple of  projects that I made back in April for a special print issue of Just Cards! magazine and called Just Christmas cards and decorations.

This print magazine is already in shops and this is a right time to share some of my Inspired by Stamping projects with you.

More to come in another post, I promise.

So this is a first one and it’s a fancy Christmas tag made with themed paper and stickers, but them the major part is this stamped stocking and IBS lovely sentiment.

I used red, black and gold embossing powders  and I hope the magazine readers will ask for those stamps as we are still far from Christmas.

IBS Stamps used:

The second print published project that I am going to share today is this  altered frame made in a chalkboard style and I stamped IBS fantastic sentiment with white ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

And this is a stamp set used here:

Embossing and Coloring on Vellum

Happy Wednesday! Lisa here sharing embossing and coloring on vellum with the Tulip Bouquet stamp set.

Let’s take a look at my card:

Inspired by Stamping, Lisa Eisner, Tulip Bouquet stamp set, FOTM Asters stamp set, Fancy Labels 3 die, birthday card, coloring on vellum tutorial

The image and sentiment are both from the Tulip Bouquet stamp set.

I stamped the floral bouquet with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. A tip when heat embossing (especially on vellum), let your heat gun warm up. I count to 20 before embossing.

The image was colored with a blender pen and Distress Inks (dye and/or craft ink can be used to color on vellum). For coloring small areas, you can take the ink directly from the ink pad with the blender pen. When coloring large areas, it is easier/quicker to use either reinkers or to ‘smudge’ your ink pads on a non-porous surface and pick the ink up with the blender pen.

For additional inspiration of this technique, here is a light block using the Poinsettias stamp set and here is a card with the FOTM: Lily of the Valley stamp set.

A closer look at the embossed and colored image:

I snipped around the bow so it would hang over the frame.

Now, the inside of the card:

The sentiment is from the FOTM: Asters stamp set. It was cut and layered with dies from the Fancy Label Dies 3.

Have you tried embossing and coloring on vellum? It creates a soft and pretty look, plus it is quick to color!

Until next time…

Butterfly Card

Hello friends…

Welcome to Inspired by Stamping…This is Nupur from Nupur Creatives

Today I have a colorful butterfly card to share with you all…

Inspired by Stamping, Nupur Priya, Butterflies stamp set, thinking of you card, birthday card, encouragement card

I started with a watercolor cardstock & marked a rectangle in the center with pencil. Next I took the butterfly stamps from the Butterflies stamp set & stamped them with black archival ink so that some parts were stamped outside my rectangle.

Inspired by Stamping, Nupur Priya, Butterflies stamp set, thinking of you card, birthday card, encouragement card

I colored the butterflies & the inside of the rectangle with distress inks, fussy cut it all with my scissors & made the border with black marker.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set on my card front & added the butterfly panel with foam adhesive.

I hope you like it … Thank you for visiting today :)

Hi all, Vicki here.  Today I am showing you how to create a sponged background.  You see it all over blogland – now you get to see how you can do it~

Here is my finished card;

I used Summer Warbler, along with Background Basics Lines for the side strip.

Step 1 – To achieve the sponged background, you need an ink blender, and ink.  I used Ranger Distress ink, due to the reaction to water that this ink has.  Ink up your blender, [dab off excess on a separate piece of paper], and moving your blender in circles ink onto the card panel.

Step 2 –  Using a second color, following the same steps as above, blend on your color, being sure to overlap onto the first color so you get a smooth blend of the 2 colors.

Step 3 – in my case, I wanted better blending, so I used a small dauber and again, moving the in circles, I got the blending I wanted.

Step 4 – Sprinkle water onto the ink for water spots.  I just tapped the tip of the end of my sprayer for the sprinkles.

My last step for completing my card — fun foam in place of dimensional tape.  It gives your card panel a much more stable lay, plus it is easier to use :)

Once again, here is the finished card;

Do you do sponging on your cards?  If not, take some scratch card stock and try it out!  It does take some practice, but the end result is worth your time~

See you next month~
